Why I moved from Wordpress to Ghost

Since 2014 I have self-hosted garthscaysbrook.com on Cpanel and Wordpress.

Today that changed.

No more plugin updates, core updates, compatibility issues, theme update issues and constant troubleshooting.

The constant worry of plugin failure and the dreaded 500 internal server error is no longer a thought.

Other issues like slow site loading, constant spam and Woocommerce woes no longer concern me.

The constant fiddling with the platform wasted time. It detracted me from creating content.

I feel free, it's like a new beginning. Completely wiped my old site. I can start again fresh, with new purpose.

Ghost represents a way for creators to publish their content, build an audience, send newsletters and offer paid subscriptions to members. Similar to Patreon, but you remain in control of your data with zero fees on revenue.

Ghost is a non-profit organisation that builds on open source technology. 100% of the revenue is reinvested back into the product and community.

Looking forward to creating new content and building something great :)
